The purpose of this conference, which is hosted
by the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), is to bring
together representatives from both the financial sector and the photovoltaic
industry. Thereby PV companies get a chance to promote their entrepreneurial
capability, while potential or existing investors in the photovoltaic
market will receive the necessary information to make plans for future
investments. The first edition of this conference, held in February
2007, attracted 130 participants and allowed them to create new business
ties reaching beyond the boundary of their respective industrial sector.
On the occasion of the conference, CEO Markus Hoehner presented the
latest insights of EuPD Research regarding trends in the different
segments of the European photovoltaic marktes. One focus of the presentation
"Trends in Market Segments - Towards more Solar Parks or Individual
Installations" was on investment prospects in the markets' large-scale
segment versus the individual installations segment. The speech, which
contributed to the first session of the conference on market trends
and policy overviews, attracted a high-profile audience consisting
of representatives from the finance sector, international associations,
and executives of international photovoltaic companies.
