Under the title “basics of growth”,
this installment of the Annual Conference on Renewable Energies brought
together representatives from the fields of politics, economics, and
science in order to discuss the political and economic framework required
for a dynamic growth of renewable energies. In particular, there was
a focus on the targets for the reduction of carbon emissions and the
increase of market share for renewable energies to 20 percent in Germany
by 2020.
In this connection, Markus Hoehner, CEO of EuPD Research, spoke
about opportunities and criteria for success of a “SolarValley
Germany”. He presented further results of the company’s
current appraisal of Germany as a location for photovoltaics in
the course of this, especially regarding the development of key
figures like production capacities, employment rates and R&D
expenditures in the photovoltaic sector. The lecture concluded with
the demonstration of a Photovoltaic Solow Growth Model, making it
possible to predict the development of photovoltaics up to the year
2030.
